Ubuntu is a free operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux. Its name comes from the Zulu, loosely translated as “humanity”.Ubuntu’s goals include providing an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. Ubuntu has been rated as the most popular Linux distribution for the desktop, claiming approximately 30% of desktop Linux installations in a survey. Ubuntu is free and open source, meaning that not only is it distributed without charge, it may also be freely improved upon. Ubuntu is sponsored by UK based company Canonical Ltd, which is owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. Instead of selling Ubuntu itself, Canonical makes money by selling paid support for Ubuntu. Well the title says it all from now onwards I will also be writing about Sony’s PSP and Canonical’s Ubuntu. I am planning on writing three guides for PSP this week and reviews about applications and shells from the next week. Regarding Ubuntu I would be giving a short detail about it and its versions. If someone has some knowledge regarding the two new topics and want to write please contact me hadi@blueoracle.co.cc we can do work together for the blog.

Steps :-

1. Download QuickPwn from the download section on the top.
2. QuickPwn for Mac works on iPhone/iPhone 3G and iPod Touch ALREADY restored to 2.1 Firmware.
3. It will jailbreak and/or unlock your iPhone/iPod depending on the model.
4. The rest is AUTOMATIC.
5. Simply connect your device and QuickPwn will detect the model and find the firmware.
6. It will ask you if you want to keep the original Apple boot logos and then it will start the jailbreak and/or unlock process.
7. You will have to turn it off and put it into DFU mode following on screen instructions and then it will reboot when finshed.

The centerpiece, of course, will be the Storm’s 480 by 360-pixel, 3.25-inch glass display, which will support multitouch. Even better, though, is a feature that RIM calls “ClickThrough”: a design that lets you “distinctly feel the screen being pressed and released with a gentle click” for a “highly intuitive experience.” Sounds promising, but whether the Storm’s display actually delivers the tactile experience that’s missing on the iPhone and the G1 remains to be seen

In addition to the multitouch display, the Storm will also come with an ambient light sensor, along with an accelerometer that’ll automatically turn the screen when you hold the phone sideways. Speaking of which: When it comes to entering text, holding the Storm in a landscape view will give you a full QWERTY touch keypad, while in portrait mode you’ll get a SureType keypad (or the same layout as on a BlackBerry Pearl).

Naturally, messaging will doubtless be one of the Storm’s strong suits. Expect full-on BlackBerry e-mail support, complete with push e-mail and access to POP and IMAP e-mail servers. Also on board: SMS, picture and instant messaging.

Besides its 3.2MP camera, the Storm is set to arrive with full HTML Web browser (double-tap to zoom, tap and slide to scroll), a video and music player, with Verizon promising smooth, full-screen video playback. There’s also a 3.5mm jack for your earphones, 1GB of internal storage, and a microSD expansion slot for another 16GB of flash memory.

This looks like a relative of the iPhone in terms of look and feel, the Instinct comes with a clean, easy-to-use interface, 3G data access, on-demand video, full-track music downloads, voice commands, and turn-by-turn GPS navigation.

Good Stuff: Touch interface rivals the iPhone, and even beats it with vibrating “haptic” feedback when you tap the screen, speedy 3G data access for video and music, as well as tethering to a laptop, almost the same size and weight as the iPhone; expandable memory.

Bad Stuff: No Wi-Fi; Web browser looks clunky compared to the iPhone’s; no Exchange support (save for Outlook Web Access); probably won’t be able to match the iPhone’s potential as a mobile software platform.

2. Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 :

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

The first Windows Mobile phone made by Sony Ericsson, the Xperia X1 boasts an “arc-slider” form factor, a full QWERTY keypad, and a unique “paneled” interface running atop the Windows Mobile OS.

Good Stuff: One-touch panels look promising; “arc” form factor ideal for viewing the display while typing; three-inch, razor-sharp WVGA screen; “optical” joystick makes it easier to scroll through Web pages; full Office and Exchange support; on-board Wi-Fi.

Bad Stuff: Relatively heavy and bulky; Windows Mobile interface much trickier to use than the iPhone UI; sure to be pricey.

3. LG Vu :

This thin, light, and stylish HSDPA-enabled handset boasts AT&T’s new live TV service, which delivers about nine channels of streaming video. It also comes with a slick animated interface, mobile email, and AT&T’s one-way video conferencing service.   

Good Stuff: Great-looking video quality using AT&T’s live TV service; slips easily into a jeans pocket; access to full-track music downloads; memory expansion.

Bad Stuff: Interface doesn’t take full advantage of the Vu’s touchscreen abilities; no Wi-Fi; no Exchange support; expensive considering what you get.

Availability: Yes, on AT&T

4. LG Voyager :

Think the old enV music phone, except with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display on the outside flip. Inside the clamshell you’ll find a full QWERTY keypad, while couch potatoes can tune in to Verizon’s live TV service.

Good Stuff: Snazzy touch interface; physical QWERTY keypad for tapping out long messages; 3G data access for on-demand video clips, full-track music downloads, and speedy Web browsing; turn-by-turn GPS navigation; memory expansion.

Bad Stuff: Relatively big and bulky; Web browser’s so-so HTML rendering pales compared to the iPhone’s browser; no Exchange support; no Wi-Fi & high priced.

Availability: Yes, Verizon Wireless

 

5. HTC Touch :

Another Windows Mobile handset, except this one comes with HTC’s TouchFlo interface—a spinning 3D cube that gives you one-touch access to your contacts, messaging, Web browsing, multimedia, and more.

Good Stuff: Small and slim enough to fit in a jeans pocket; clever TouchFlo interface makes for easy access to oft-used phone features; full Office and Exchange support; 3G data access for on-demand video clips and full-track music downloads.

Bad Stuff: Good luck navigating the tricky Windows Mobile interface without a stylus; virtual QWERTY keypad makes for clunky typing; no Wi-Fi.

IMOVIO's iKit

Well, I’m anxious to get my hands on IMOVIO’s iKIT, a £99 (about $161) miniature PC with a teensy 2.8-inch LCD that some are dubbing a sub-netbook or sub-subnotebook. While it won’t run Word, it does pack quite a punch for its diminutive size.

The iKIT, officially dubbed a “Pocket Mobile Companion,” is a familiar, if miniaturized, clamshell device with a QWERTY keyboard, Linux OS, Wi-Fi, 0.3-megapixel webcam, and a mini-USB port. It has 64MB of RAM and supports storage on regular SD cards (up to 8GB in size), and it’s preloaded with apps, including the usual contact managers, messaging systems, a media player, and the Opera Mini web browser. It’s really designed to be used as alternative to your cell phone for mobile email and messaging needs.

It’s not, however, a replacement for a cell phone: The iKIT doesn’t include voice features nor a cellular radio. Its only connectivity option is Wi-Fi (plus Bluetooth), unless you plug a WWAN adapter into the USB port or connect it to something else via Bluetooth.

Sadly, iKIT won’t be showing up at local shops anytime soon. The British company is hoping to partner with wireless carriers or other companies to sell the device as an add-on or alternative to an expensive phone or laptop. It’s unlikely that IMOVIO will bring the device to market on its own, as IMOVIO is not a well known name so it would definitely attract a few.

Apple's LED Displays

Along with the new Macbook Line on 14 October, Apple also announced the new LED displays. They have the same design which the Macbooks have and Apple says about the LED Displays that these are first display made precisely for a Macbook
